Who We Are
There are 40 dedicated public servants who are responsible for the over 430,000 people that live in Santa Barbara County. We are responsible for an area over 2,735 square miles, in which any one can be a victim of crime at any time. Our work is constant and consuming, every day we fight to protect the public, trying to “Do the Right Thing for the Right Reason.” After the law enforcement officers make an arrest, it is up to the members of the SBDDAA employed by the Office of the District Attorney to prosecute the case and bring those responsible to justice. Justice for the victims; justice for the community; justice for the innocent; and justice for the guilty.
“The law is reason, free from passion.” Aristotle
Our Mission
The Santa Barbara Deputy District Attorneys Association’s (SBDDAA) primary goal is to support Deputy District Attorney’s and their families by acknowledging their hard work, dedication and sacrifice in fulfilling their role as public servants. The SBDDAA seeks justice through prosecution of criminals, protection of victims and enhanced public safety through prevention, deterrence, and education.
