The Deputy District Attorney Association wishes veteran prosecutor and former DDAA President and Vice President Lee Carter the best as he retires from the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office. DDA Carter has represented the People of the State of California for over thirty two years. During this time he has worked in general felonies, asset forfeiture, juvenile court, filed thousands of investigative referrals from law enforcement, and most recently established the cannabis compliance unit. He is considered a leading expert in the area of asset forfeiture and has taught this subject for a number of years for the California District Attorney’s Association. DDA Carter has also been an active member of the DDAA and has been involved in the negotiations of numerous contracts with the County. His last day with the County will be October 18, 2019.
